General info

algemeenSince 1993 Prins Paphiopedilum Orchids has cultivated Paphiopedilum American Hybrids, in a nursery with a surface of 9.000 m2. Before that, since 1970, the plants were bred by Prins Orchidee. We have skills for many years in this special culture. Selection, multiplication and breeding is done on our own. In January 2007 the company opened it’s second location (20.000 m²). The Paphiopedilum, the ladyslipper, owes its name to the shoeshape form of its lip. De The Paphiopedilum belongs to the family of Orchids. Beside cactus it is the largest family of plants one can find in nature almost all over the world. The Paphiopedilum can usually be found in (sub)tropical areas. In nature this plant grows in and under trees, with its roots along the trees or in the loose organic material on the soil.
